Client Agreement Form (Membership Contract)
Catalyst Strength Pty Ltd (‘Provider’) ACN: 655 689 651
265 Elizabeth Street North Hobart (Catalyst Strength) (‘Facility’)

Terms of Membership

Any student membership application must be accompanied by a suitable student ID relating to university or high school study.

The client agrees to sign up to the above membership package which grants them access to the training facility.

The access hours are 5am to 10pm on weekdays and 7am to 8pm on weekends, accessible via Bluetooth on your phone as default OR by a physical FOB if you prefer. Both the Elizabeth street entry and Tasma street entry points are accessible.

Memberships require the member to pay both the agreed initial sign up fee and prorated membership fee. This locks in their membership fees for the agreed initial term. Once the minimum term is complete, the membership fees may change based on facility running costs, market improvements, and demand. Any upcoming changes in membership fees following the cessation of the agreed initial term will be communicated to the client.

The membership fees will be charged via paychoice on a 4-weekly cycle, in advance. This requires a signature to paychoice terms and conditions and payment of any associated late payment or default fees. Swipe access will be disabled 7 days after a failed payment. Within this time, staff will endeavour to resolve any payment issues with the client and/or paychoice.

Upon the cessation of a 12-month contract, the client must re-sign up for a 12-month contract otherwise they are defaulted to a month to month contract whereby different membership fees apply.

28 Days notice must be given if the client is to not renew their contract in any form.

The facilities are under 24 hour video surveillance; inappropriate behaviour, destruction of property or theft will be acted upon.

Cancellation

All memberships must be cancelled with 28 days notice. Within this time period, access to the facility will be available and fees will be charged to cover this time period as normal.

No cancellation fees are charged for a month to month membership.

A $150 cancellation fee will be charged for early cancellation of a 12 month membership.

The provider reserves the right to cancel memberships at any time, ending all charges to the client and access to the facility. This may be due to but not limited to: breach of gym rules, inappropriate behaviour, disruption of other members training, careless damage to facilities, or bringing the reputation of the provider into disrepute. Warning will be given of breaches of the gym rules in most cases.

Membership holds can be requested in one week in advance. Memberships can be held for a maximum of 8 weeks per year. During this time period, a retainer membership is applied at $10/week.

Replacement FOBs

Lost FOBs can be replaced at $15 each.

Gym Rules & Important Information

Treat all members with respect. Encourage other members. Animosity or lack of respect shown to fellow members will not be tolerated.
Encourage your fellow members. Healthy rivalries and competitiveness is encouraged. This is a high performance training facility. Everyone is here to better themselves, regardless of how experienced they are.
Be aware of your surroundings; give other members space so you don’t accidentally knock their equipment when in use.
Do not walk directly in front of someone who is squatting. Walk around them, walk past them far in front of them, or let them finish their set first.
All members are entitled to fair and equal use of gym facilities and should not leave their equipment in the workout area or loiter, preventing other members from training.
When it is peak hour, make efficient use of your time on equipment that is in high demand. For example, if all deadlift platforms are in use and someone is waiting for one, offer to work in with them and/or don’t extend your rest periods beyond what is appropriate for that given training purpose.
A defibrillator is located on the Tasma street side of the gym above the water fountain. Close to this is a first aid kit.
A fire extinguisher and hose is located on the Tasma street side of the gym.
The gym emergency procedures are located on the Tasma street side of the gym as well as near the internal exit door (Elizabeth street side)
Treat the equipment with respect. If you are unsure of how to use something, please ask. This will reduce the likelihood of you damaging yourself, others, and the equipment. Share equipment where you can if equipment is in high demand.
Clean equipment after use with sanitising spray or wipes. If your barbell is heavily caked in chalk, clean it after use with a scrubbing brush.
Keep the facility as clean as possible: use chalk within the chalk bowls, and minimise talcum powder usage outside of big deadlift days ~ 4-weeks out from competition. When you use talcum powder, try not to get it everywhere!
Put equipment back to where it is stored after you have finished using it.
Report damage to equipment to staff.
Use the safety rails and / or spotters on squats and bench especially if you are training at a high intensity. Set these up at an appropriate height.
No rack pulls as these destroy barbells; use block pulls instead if you are doing a partial range of motion deadlift.
If you are doing pin squats or shrugs within a power rack, do not slam the barbell down onto the pins.
Dropping of weights is prohibited; treat the equipment and facility with respect.
Music played within the facility is able to be self-selected. Please return the playlist back to a dedicated gym playlist on cessation of a workout.
Members who are coming into the final weeks of a competition prep and training on their main training days will be given music selection preference within reason.
Do not play the music loud when the roller door is open.
There are caps on music volume during early and late hours; be mindful of this.
